2013 | 2 Episodes | 52 min | Hebrew, Arabic & English | English Subtitles

Synopsis

1973 War Diary, a history documentary in two parts, offers a radically new view on the Yom Kippur War. With four decades of hindsight, this film recounts the true story of the conflict.

The event wasn’t solely military; it was also political. The event wasn’t solely Israeli; it was also Egyptian, Syrian, and Western. The event belongs to everyone.

While the 1967 Six Day War is undeniably one of the major events in the Middle East, the Yom Kippur War of 1973 provides important background for understanding what is happening today in this part of the world. The Yom Kippur War can rightly be considered the tipping point in the history of the modern-day Middle East. Arab and Israeli societies continue to be affected by its outcome.

This film features a balance of Arab and Israeli viewpoints.
